A busy and established law firm based in Hertfordshire has a fantastic offering for an experienced Commercial Solicitor to join the highly regarded Corporate and Commercial Team.

The role will suit a candidate with at least 3 years PQE and have the ability to be able to network at local events.

Main duties will include a varied case load of all commercial work and the following:

  • Advising on and reviewing commercial contracts, including franchise agreements, supply terms, distribution, agency, e-commerce and software as a service agreements.
  • Handling an active caseload of your own files with responsibility for the day to day conduct of your files, with minimal supervision.
  • Working with other members of the team on bigger, more complex cases and taking ownership for a particular stream of work on bigger cases.
  • Providing a courteous and efficient service putting clients at the centre of everything that is done.
  • Recognising the importance of cross-selling and identify opportunities to refer work to other teams.
  • Attending networking and firm events to build relationships with potential clients and intermediaries.
  • Assisting in developing and implementing marketing strategies for commercial work.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of law firm finances and ability to manage matters in a commercial manner and have a solid background in dealing with commercial work. This is an opportunity for a motivated individual to develop and lead the commercial offering and have clear career progression.

    The role itself, would include duties such as –

    Audio and copy typing, word processing and document production, photocopying and document binding, handling and filing all correspondence incoming and outgoing including post, faxes, emails, email attachments scanned or in word documents or other common place formats, DX Maintain desktop PC connected to server utilising basic housekeeping and keeping programs up to date, maintaining necessary skills on all working programs including but not limited to Word, MS Office and Oyez forms Answering and making telephone calls on behalf of fee earners in a professional and efficient manner to clients, Counsel, courts, tribunals, land registry, Police, Experts, other solicitors and suppliers, regulatory authorities and any third party contacting the fee earner as requested Opening and maintaining files including keeping filing up to date and keeping files to Lexcel standards Making diary appointments in hard back diaries, outlook express diaries, booking Boardroom facilities, meetings, conferences and holidays, travel arrangements 

    The ideal candidate is said to have dispute resolution experience, have good telephone manners and communicational skills, while working under pressure.

    My client is law firm currently going through expansion. They are now looking for an experienced Private Client Fee Earner to join their team

    Private Client Services Specifically in the area of complex private client services advice and support might include:

    · Drafting wills including wills for complex family situations and including trusts.

    · Preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney and advising generally on elderly client issues including Deputyships and other Court of Protection applications. Being sympathetic to the particular needs of elderly clients.

    · Advising client on Inheritance Tax Planning including drafting settlements.

    · Preparing and administering trusts including Deeds of Retirement and Appointment of Trustees, documents altering the terms of the trusts.

    · Advising clients on the wider implications of any transactions or advice.

    · Dealing with the administration of estates including intestacy, high value estates including estates where lifetime gifts have been made, Business Property Relief and/or Agricultural Property Relief have been claimed.

    My client is looking for a Solicitor or Legal Executive with at least 2 years experience.
