Residential Conveyancer, Cambridge:

Nelson Chambers is currently working with a top 200 law firm in the Cambridge area who are looking to recruit a Licensed Conveyancer, Solicitor or Legal Executive to their Residential Property team.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the Residential Property field and will be able to run their own caseload.

Salary will be dependent on experience but ranges from around £35,000-£45,000. An Excellent benefits package including flexible working opportunities, the option to buy and sell holiday, and aspects of private healthcare coverage, will also be included.

    The role

    Our client is looking to recruit an experienced commercial solicitor with at least 4 years PQE. As a key part of the corporate and commercial team, you would be providing high-quality legal advice on a range of commercial matters such as drafting and negotiating T’s and C’s, privacy policies, distribution and agency agreements, manufacturing agreements and franchise agreements.

    You will also assist lead and assist in business development activities and managing more junior members of the team.

    The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of post-qualification experience, gained within a well-respected commercial practice.

    AJ Chambers are delighted to be working with a leading commercial law firm in the City of London who are looking for a Finance Assistant to join their successful team on a short-term 6-month contract basis. With the opportunity to go full-time in the future.

    The Role

    The Finance Assistant will support both the Senior Legal Cashier and Head of Finance, with a split of approximately 75% to 25% retrospectively with a list of duties as set-out below:

    Cashiering Responsibilities

    Assisting fee earners with reconciling completion accounts. Accurately checking and posting bills onto Lawsoft. Accurately checking and processing all daily client account transactions including CHAPS and BACS payments via RBS Bankline. Reconciliation of the client and office accounts daily. Processing all office account daily transactions, checking paid invoices for unpaid disbursements. Post and reconcile internal transfers, run daily control reports, checking for errors. Dealing with expense payments. Producing professional and clear correspondence for onward sending to stakeholders, clients and suppliers.

    Assistance Responsibilities

    Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts and distribution of monthly management information pack. Dealing with monthly pre-payment and accruals, various control account reconciliations, posting journals, maintain fixed asset register and depreciation computations, analysing and monitoring certain key profit and loss items against budget and ‘last year’ together with similar compliance work. Assisting with partner and staff commission payments. Assisting with annual statutory financial reporting and SRA compliance. Producing ad-hoc analyses and reports as required by partners and/or clients. Providing project support, as necessary, under the responsibility of the Head of Finance.

    Candidate Profile

    The successful candidate will be motivated, flexible and task-orientated with excellent prioritization skills with at least two years’ experience as a Cashier (or similar) working within a busy and demanding law firm. The successful candidate will have a professional manner, excellent interpersonal skills and possess a minimum of at least five GCSEs, including Maths and English at Grade C / Grade 4 (or equivalent).
